The easiest way to keep your characters up to date in PYFA is to go to -> Windows -> Character Editor -> API -> https://community.eveonline.com/support/api-key/update/ log in, set expiry to "never expires" check "Character sheet" hit "Submit" - done.
In PYFA click "New Character" (the left of the four buttons) name it after your character (ideally) copy paste the ID and the verification click "get character" and select the wanted character (in case it's an account API and you have several characters on that account) then click "fetch skills".
That's it - you're golden now to tinker the allV fits down to your skill level (or tweak em to whatever purpose you need them for). Hope that helps |

edit: 1.5.1 works great, tested in windows and linux ;) Not sure what you mean by clone. Do you mean character?
I recon he wants to create Character bound Implant sets representing his Jumpclones than be allowed to select, possibly via the character selection, said jumpclones to see the changing stats of entirely different implant sets on a ship without having to refit every single implant and noting stats down for either.
How likely would it be to have the "Ships" market tree to select our hulls? I'm not very keen on the alphabetical listing TBH.
Effective DPS is pretty awesome, damage and resist profiles here:

Using above damage and resist and damage profiles (it was a pain putting them into PYFA for the first time ...) and rightclicking to select a damage profile is kind of weird as it doesn't seem to sort the trees alphabetically though. What I mean with that is that the "Ammo : E" folder is displayed below two of the "Rats : " folders of damage profiles, while the folders for Hybrid and Projectile ammo is displayed above.
If I click "back" on the fit selection for a specific hull I somehow get a lot of white in recent versions till he returns to the above layer (eg Battleships if I had the Rattle selected). The amount of clicks seems to vary as well. Using the, I'll call it home, button though works perfectly fine. |

The last posts I found about this error were from back in 2011. Thanks! Most likely this is pyfa crashing on database initialization. Try this: https://github.com/DarkFenX/Pyfa/issues/190
I am debating on putting old upgrade paths back in for those that are coming back after a long time away, which should help in this issue =) Happy day! That worked! Thanks! I figured out the problem. A few years ago I had an old version of pyfa installed. I removed the app, but not the .pyfa directory. It started up after I got rid of the ancient database. Thanks again! Surprising enough your machine has gone for years without flattening the disk and a fresh install . I do that every odd year or so xD |

I'd give a like for every post in this thread for how awesome PYFA actually is. Well useful, pretty and good - it's got problems as well but nothing is perfect (that kind of sounds like I was talking about a girlfriend +.~).

I can't seem to get the Tactical Mode to work - most noticeable on a T2 Beam Confessor fit with Aurora. Pi times thumb that should be around 50 without TE / Locus rigs in sharpshooter mode ('bout 30 plus two thirds of 'bout 30 should come out at around 50-ish) but it only gives me the just below 30 km range focused Beams S have anyway. |

Here's only some random things I found while messing around with
1.13.3
- "Copy" fit seems broken
- "Back" behaves weirdly - it sends you to ship groups (to "Ship Groups" from say "Svipul") from a list of ship fittings if you just created a new fitting. However upon revisiting all the fits for a hull "Back" behaves as it should and sends you back to the market group (say to Tactical Destroyers when viewing Svipuls)
- the tactical modes still don't do anything for the numbers

Kara Anders wrote:Noted a rather large discrepancy between PYFA and In-game given stats.
See above posts of mine - the modes don't do anything yet*. The general lack of any change in any number at all upon switching between the three modes; no change in range for sniper- and no change for speed in speed-mode.
I recon one could look up the description on how to create modules for PYFA (there was one floating around for the then unreleased Bastion), add a random slot for te tactical and work around this way; or wait for the fix... which might stillt ake a while as I can't see any issues for that on the github page.
*though I recon I haven't fully reinstalled and deleted the cache... might be a local thing... gonna check that later. |
